Raymond Lee Parker is a perfect example of how fortunate it is to be born into a musical family.  There is a certain interaction between musical siblings … and Raymond was there to absorb it all.  The elder Brother Maynard had become a well-known Jazz guitarist across the Mid-West, and the other Brother LeRoy was a sought after musician as well. It was only a matter of time before Raymond’s curiosity got the best of him.  By age four he began tinkering at the piano.  In a household filled with Gospel, Jazz and Blues recordings, young Raymond had a lot to draw from.

Raymond’s curiosity continued to grow during his teens as he began to study guitar before finally focusing on the trumpet.  These years seemed to have solidified Raymond’s dedication to music as he performed lead trumpet with the 8-piece brass section known as the “Famous Flames”.   It was also around this time he began to develop his voice as a Jazz singer.

Feeling the need to serve his Country without sacrificing his love of music, Raymond spent four years as the organist with the United States Air Force Service Band.  Upon leaving the military, he went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Piano performance from USC in Los Angeles.

Raymond spent a number of years touring with a number of groups including the Grammy Nominated Jazz band “The Yellow Jackets”.  His personal band, “The Raymond Lee Parker Trio” is well known throughout the North-Western United States.  His work as a pianist and vocalist, in and around the Seattle area earned him the moniker the “Piano Man”.  The Raymond Lee Parker Trio released two successful CD’s to moderate airplay in that area.

Raymond currently resides Palos Verdes, California where the “Raymond Lee Parker Trio” performs monthly at an open air Music Festival on the Beach.  At present the group is in the studio working on their upcoming CD. The Jazz trio consists of Raymond on acoustic piano and vocals, Jeff Sheridan on acoustic bass and Mark SanFillepto on drums.   The “Raymond Lee Parker Trio” is available for various engagements throughout California.
